Text Processing in Linux

There are many data processing utilities present on all Linux systems which allow you to both process text and to manipulate almost all files: By default, data on a Linux system is sent to utilities using standard input, stdin, output is sent to standard output, stdout, and error messages are sent to standard error, stderr.
